Copy Cat
What do you call guys who have no originality? I don't know if the word Plagiarism fits the bill in this case, though it comes pretty close. But the person who is involved in this particular incident is literally a copy cat.

For a long time I was on the net without an avatar. The reason for this being that I did not find any image or icon suitable for me (and I was too lazy to create one from scratch). As many of you might know, I am very fond of comics. One day as I was reading Garfield, I found a particular image of Garfield which I thought suited me perfectly (which others agreed without any argument). This avatar of mine has been my identity online since then, for more than a year and half now.

One day, one of my friends asked me for that image saying that he liked it very much, and assuring me that he had no intention of using it as his avatar. Without hesitation, I sent him the image. Today, while chatting, I had a look at his avatar by chance, and I don't think its necessary for me to tell you what I saw. My immediate reaction was surprise, and without wasting a second, I messaged him asking him to change it (obviously after bombarding him with accusations of copying and lack of originality). A minute later I get a reply saying it is changed. What I saw was brilliant!! His avatar is now the mirror image of mine. Well, now I know, he has been too influenced by his travels that were a part of his previous job.

As to the identity of this friend of mine, I give you two simple clues. He has a liking towards Balloons, and he has an id in Gmail.

Nice Avatar
Hello Harish,

Nice to see your new Avatar. Garfield suits you a lot! BTW, would you like to join BNP Paribas in Mumbai after your Master's degree? We have roles in the Quant Research team of Equity Derivatives Research. Do let me know about it.

We need some super duper Mathematicians like you and I told my team members here that the only surviving Math genius today is in IISc, working in a Comp. lab as a humble mortal.

With regards,
Sriram
